MSE CIRCUIT SWITCH SIMULATOR (CSS)
MODEL NO. 3173
The CSS equipment simulates two lines of the Mobile Subscriber Equipment (MSE) Circuit Switch, enabling the user to perform complete operational tests in a laboratory or repair depot, on equipments that normally interface with the MSE system but which system may not be readily available for test purposes. Equipments such as the Digital Non-Secure Voice Terminal (DNVT), Digital Subscriber Voice Terminal (DSVT) and Tactical Terminal Adapter (TTA) can be tested for functionality in all operational states; Idle, Seize, Ring, Ring Trip, Lock-In, Dial, Traffic, Release and Ring Interrogation.

Simultaneous with the CSS moving the equipment under test through each operational state the user is presented with a graphic display of the current status of each of the interconnected equipments, permitting the user to follow state changes and pinpoint any malfunction.
Both voice and data transmission are supported by the CSS equipment which has been found very useful for verifying acceptable operation, as a troubleshooting tool and as an aid in training user personnel in the system and its interconnecting devices.
