The US Government tested and nomenclatured Telephone Set TA-1058/U is a rugged analog telephone designed for operation in Army tactical field environments, even in proximity to systems like SINGARS transmitting at 50 watts in frequency hopping modes. It offers connections for Private Branch or Public Switched Telephone Network systems. The telephone operates with a Common Battery, DC Supervision, and supports Dual Tone Multi-Frequency or Pulse Signaling over two wires.
